To improve social connection and overall well-being within NH's diverse communities by increasing cultural understanding and knowledge about immigration among diverse stakeholders (particularly health care professionals and policy makers) through public education and by engaging newcomers and native-born community members in sustained and productive dialogue.

To enhance the organizational capacity for the member organizations of the Coalition of African Organizations and building shared systems for effective collaboration by retaining consultant management support for the period of one year.

To help refugee, immigrant and American schoolchildren develop capacity for respect, understanding, and compassion for the life experiences and cultural backgrounds of all people by offering opportunities to increase knowledge and understanding of other cultures, develop intercultural relationships and develop young people as leaders and role models in reducing destructive prejudices and misunderstanding within schools and the broader community through service learning projects.

To provide a safe afterschool environment that supports academic and social growth for refugee youth by providing afternoon and summer programs.

To assess the health status of minority populations and address health disparities by improving NH's collection of race, ethnicity and language data and developing a State Plan to Reduce Health Disparities and Promote Health Equity.

To improve the mental health of refugee and non-English speaking minority youth by identifying the needs and opportunities for improving services and supports for African refugee youth and families in NH.

To create a community of diverse learners for multicultural, educational, personal development and leadership experiences by providing a residential camp that address injustices and inequalities, power and oppression.

To develop a comprehensive plan to improve the diverse health care workforce by conducting a needs assessment and a collaborative planning process with key stakeholders to license foreign trained health care workers in NH.

To improve social connectedness for immigrant/refugee students and parents in the Manchester School District with their schools, city systems, their native-born neighbors, and each other through programming for children, youth and parents.

To improve understanding of the barriers faced by Limited English Proficient (LEP) and Deaf or Hard of Hearing persons who need communication assistance in health care settings, and to identify and promote policy solutions to reduce those barriers by conducting a storybanking project, convening stakeholders, educating policymakers and developing a strategic action plan.

To strengthen New Hampshire's efforts to address racial and ethnic health disparities by supporting participation in the New England Regional Minority Health Committee's (NERMHC) Regional Conference.

To increase knowledge about immigration issues nationally and locally, to build social capital and collaborative capacity among individuals and institutions, and to enable active civic engagement by providing public humanities education for NH citizens.
