Endowment for Health Appoints Board Chair; Elects New Members

Maria de Gracia Padin, MD has been appointed Endowment for Health board chair, replacing Betsy Paine whose term concluded. Dr. Padin is chief medical officer, Community Group Practices at Dartmouth-Hitchcock. She is a graduate of the Carol Emmott Fellowship, and the American Association of Medical Colleges’ Chief Medical Officer fellowship program. She has held various state leadership roles with the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. Dr. Padin has been a member of the American Hospital Association and recently concluded her term on the National Maternal Child Health Advisory Board. She is a resident of North Hampton, NH.

“We are pleased to have Dr. Padin step into the role of board chair. Her clinical healthcare expertise will help lead our work,” said Endowment for Health President Dr. Yvonne Goldsberry. “We also welcome four new board members who bring a wealth of knowledge in their respective fields,” she said. The new Endowment for Health board members include:

Adeola Adeniyi is a seasoned accountant with expertise in analytics, financial management, data interpretation, and accounting practices. Ms. Adeniyi holds a Master of Science in Accounting from Southern New Hampshire University. She mentors aspiring accountants and entrepreneurs to promote financial literacy and empowerment. Ms. Adeniyi is a resident of Manchester.

Joyce Johnson has served as a quality improvement specialist with experience in research and strategies to improve healthcare outcomes. She is a registered nurse with a focus on mental health and child health services. Ms. Johnson holds a Masters Degree in Sociology from the University of Northern Colorado. She previously served as the administrator at the NH Department of Education, Bureau of School Approval. Ms. Johnson is a resident of Durham.

Kevin J. Rasch is the general counsel of Health Plans Inc. (HPI) and Corporate Vice President of Point32 Health. Mr. Rasch received a Masters Degree is Public Policy and Economic Analysis from Trinity College, a Law Degree from the College of William and Mary, and a MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. He is a resident of Littleton.

Rich Upton is a general partner at Harbor Light Capital Partners and previously worked as a healthcare investment banker for 15 years. Mr. Upton has served on the Endowment for Health Investment Committee since 2019. He holds Bachelors Degrees in Economics and English from Amherst College and a MBA from the Darden School at the University of Virginia. He is a resident of Amherst, NH.
