Deanna has been the Executive Director of Dover Adult Learning Center of Strafford County, which is embedded in the Dover School Department and supported by a strong nonprofit Board, for 16 years. During her 25-year career in adult education, she has also worked as the Adult Basic Education Coordinator at York Adult Education in York, ME and the Adult Learner Services Coordinator of Rockingham County in Exeter, NH. Deanna is a graduate of Leadership Seacoast and was selected as the 2025 David K. Bamford Educator of the Year, an annual award presented by the Dover Chamber’s Business and Education Partnership to an outstanding educator who has made a significant contribution to the field of education in the Greater Dover area. Other leadership positions include chairing the New England Literacy Resource Center (NELRC) and co-chairing the NH Adult Education Directors’ Alliance (NHAEDA), of which she is a founding member. She also serves as a mentor for GoodWork in their nonprofit Incubator. An active member of South Church, Unitarian Universalist, she is a Social Justice Associate and serves on planning committees for the Fall Retreat and the Portsmouth Pocket Garden Tour.
