Shari A. Robinson, Ph.D., recently retired as Assistant Vice President of Student Life at the University of New Hampshire. She earned her doctorate in Counseling Psychology from West Virginia University and has dedicated more than 30 years to higher education, serving at four university counseling centers across five institutions.
Dr. Robinson has been an active member of the American Psychological Association since 2004 and holds professional affiliations with the Higher Education Mental Health Alliance (HEMHA) and the National Student Personnel Association (NASPA) since 2020. Her professional interests focus on systemic issues related to mental health equity, inclusion, and diversity, with particular attention to supporting students of color, first-generation college students, and mentoring professionals of color.
Beyond her clinical and administrative roles, Dr. Robinson has provided significant leadership at the University of New Hampshire. She has served on the Commission for Community, Equity, and Diversity; the President’s Advisory Council on Campus Climate; the MLK Summit Planning Committee; the Behavioral Intervention Team; the Basic Needs Initiative; and the Title IX Advisory Council, among others. She is also the current Chair of the Black Heritage Trail of New Hampshire and recently concluded her service on the EH Advisory Committee.
Throughout her career, Dr. Robinson has remained deeply committed to expanding access and fostering belonging for historically underserved faculty, staff, and students. She has advanced this mission through service leadership opportunities, committee work, outreach, and consultation. Currently, she is pursuing certification as an Executive Leadership Coach, supporting senior leaders as they navigate the complex challenges that higher education institutions are currently facing.
