Shawn LaFrance retired in 2023 from his role as Vice President for Population Health at Dartmouth Health–Cheshire Medical Center in Keene, NH. Cheshire Medical Center is a hospital and the provider responsible for public health services in rural southwestern New Hampshire. Prior to that role, he worked for 17 years at the Foundation for Health Communities in Concord NH and served as its founding Executive Director. This organization focused statewide on providing access to health care, high quality health care, and community-based prevention strategies. Early in his career, he worked for the NYC Department of Health, The Commonwealth Fund, and Citizen’s Committee for the Children of NY.
Rev. Shawn LaFrance is a Deacon in the Episcopal Church and serves in parish ministry and as volunteer chaplain. Other community activities include servicing on the board of directors for: National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI)-NH; NH Hospice and Palliative Care; AARP-NH; NH Public Health Association; and Concord Public Library Foundation. His graduate studies were completed at Columbia University with a Master of Public Health and Master of Science in Urban Planning and his undergraduate degree is from the University of New Hampshire.
