Tim Murphy


Tim Murphy serves as Executive Director of the Southwest Region Planning Commission based in Keene, NH. He has over 35 years’ experience as a regional planner.

He works to establish effective planning programs to benefit the communities of Southwest NH. Focus includes research and analyses to identify trends and conditions and developing strategies on issues which span environmental quality, community and economic development, demographic change, emergency management, public health, transportation, and broadband. Fundamental in his approach are the concepts of integrated planning, consensus building, and working in partnership among a full range of stakeholders. Prior work experience includes working with the South Florida Regional Planning Council where he served as Deputy Director.

He holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan and a master’s degree in Geography with a concentration in City and Regional Planning from Eastern Michigan University.

He lives with his wife Pamela in Keene, NH.
