To strengthen the self-esteem and mental health of young immigrant and refugee women by providing a two-day residency for African slam poet and jazz singer Iyoeka Okoawo, during which she will offer performances and poetry workshops for youth.

To expand diversity within the nursing workforce and nursing education faculty in NH by promoting awareness of the nursing profession among youth from diverse cultures and supporting underrepresented populations to earn a Masters degree in nursing and join the nursing faculty in NH.

To address various cultural and linguistic barriers to healthcare and health-related services and empower community members by providing immigrants and refugees with health education programs presented by healthcare providers and by providing a community health nurse on-site at the Coalition of African Organization's office on a monthly basis.

To foster healthy relationships among African parents and children in Manchester and Concord and increase parental involvement in their children's schools by piloting a culturally appropriate family support model based on national best practices and bridging relationships between schools and refugee families.

To raise awareness and promote healthy behaviors related to the prevention and control of diabetes and cardiovascular disease among minority groups and by convening a statewide conference that will provide information, education, and training addressing these issues.

To strengthen organizational capacity and ensure security of current programs reliant on secure databases by supporting acquisition of essential small business network components.

To improve the health, safety and well-being of immigrants and refugees in New Hampshire by identifying best practices for serving, supporting, and integrating newcomers and by creating a plan for a statewide coalition to collaborate, communicate, and advocate for services, programs and resources that enhance the health and quality of life for immigrants and refugees in our state.

To increase access to workers' compensation medical benefits for injured immigrant workers.

To ensure quality advocacy, nonprofit capacity building and knowledge development for the health system in NH in order to improve the health of NH residents by sustaining the general operations of key NH nonprofits.

To foster healthy environments and relationships among African parents and children in Manchester by developing curriculum for and piloting a culturally appropriate family support model based on national best practices.

To improve social connection and overall well-being within NH's diverse communities by increasing cultural understanding and knowledge about immigration among diverse stakeholders (particularly health care professionals and policy makers) through public education and by engaging newcomers and native-born community members in sustained and productive dialogue.
